Young People’s Projects

Our Children and young people’s project provides a range of quality activities for children and young people throughout the year. All of the activities are age appropriate and delivered in consultation with children and young people. These include craft sessions, fun and games afternoons, film evenings, and themed discos. We organise and deliver evening sessions during term time from Monday to Friday and extra activities during school holidays. The young people determine all our activities organised.

Our organised Residential provides fantastic opportunities for young people to participate in some adventurous activities, whilst engaging in team building, problem solving and social skills. Each activity delivered encourages young people to challenge their abilities and enables them to achieve personal goals These visits are sometimes a once in a life time opportunity for some young people. Young people experience being part of a team, making a difference, learning new skills and most importantly having lots of fun doing so.

We run the local Youth Centre and organise activities for young people of various ages. When the Youth Centre is open they can access the projects below, appropriate to their age:

Be APT (Be Active and Positive Together) is a free young people’s project funded by BBC Children in Need. The project is open to 5-19 year olds and aims to help build self-esteem, confidence and life skills. We organise fun trips and activities including arts and crafts, cooking, music and other workshops. We also have pool tables, table football, XBOX 360, Playstation 2 and a juke box available for young people to use.

BeAPT sessions run at the Westcliff Youth Centre, Cowper Avenue we are next to Westcliff Community Centre

Mondays — 5 – 10 years — 5.00pm to 6:30pm

Tuesdays — 11 – 18 years — 4.30pm to 6.30pm

Wednesdays — 5 – 10 years –5.00pm – 6.30pm

Thursdays — 11 – 18 years — 4.30pm to 6.30pm

Fridays — 11 – 18 years — 4.30pm to 6.30pm
